In literacy this week we have been creating our own poems and learning what onomatopoeia means.
An onomatopoeia is a type of word that sounds like the thing it is describing.

Match the following sentences to the onomatopoeia that describes them.

A plate being dropped on the floor.	TINKLE
A balloon being burst.	BANG
A gun being shot.	SMASH
Someone eating crisps.	GROWL

A stranger came to the grave yard today
Dressed all in black and grey
